New Site!

I have been working under the name Blue Hill Images for over 15 years. I still do, in my school portrait business, and I’ve got two weeks til I can officially change it on Instagram. But I felt it was high time I have an online presence that not only shows my current artistic voice, but also my real name.

So much of my work lately has to do with identity. Most women understand a shift in identity as we travel through life, become mothers, watch our children grow up and leave, change our worldviews, change our responsibilities and focus. Change is drastic and swift in our bodies as well, so it’s no wonder we feel the shift in everything around us. I feel I have already lived at least three lifetimes, and I expect a few more.

It’s only natural that I would need a different space to share my work, my ideas, my projects, my thoughts. It’s been a good long time since I’ve had a blog that was not related to a business, and I don’t expect to be blogging daily (or even regularly, let’s be honest) here. I do plenty of posting of my thoughts and work on Instagram. But I do feel the pull to do something a little more permanent, a little more flexible, a little . . . bigger. If not for you, dear reader, then just for myself.

So here we are! A new website (under construction and under great frustration at the changes in Squarespace infastructure). A new blog (which I’ve already told you will be as sporadic as my creative waves). A new name, as I go back to using my old name, or . . . the name I’ve used during my last two lifetimes, anyway. It’s just me, Cami Turpin, sharing some of the work that helps me figure out who I am now, and who I want to become.

If you happen to stumble upon this space, I hope you enjoy. I hope you find something that makes YOU want to create. I hope you reach out and tell me. It’s all, really, just about connection.

Focus

Here I am, with my inner child. (Nora is often a stand-in.) I see you, little girl. I’m looking right at you. And you’re going to be ok.
